Comprehensive Conflict Resolution
I founded Lambert South Mediation (LSM) after attending law school and passing the Kentucky bar exam. Although I have been a communication professor for 20 years and a mediator for 14 years, my experience in law school inspired me to create this firm. The current legal system is designed for trench-warfare and conflict, with a judge ultimately deciding your fate. There is a place in society for hiring professionals to advocate for your position fiercely. However, this type of system does not always work well for people and families who want to make decisions that are best for them. Rewarding continued conflict with paid time and billable hours is not in the best interest when consensus can be reached. I don’t say this to be disparaging to attorneys – I am one – but there are some situations where you should be in control of the decisions that impact your life.
Overall, I take great pride in being an educator and advocate for transformative communication. I think there is a gap when it comes to the accessibility of mediation and non-adversarial solution services. I formed Lambert South Mediation to bridge the gap and be a solution for you.

10 Things to Know About Me if You Choose Me as a Mediator
#1. I am the facilitator of the process – you never have to worry about whose side I am on. It is my job to not be on anyone’s side – only to help you and the other party come to a resolution.
#2. I am flexible with schedules and places to meet. I have protocols in place that allow for an entirely virtual mediation.
#3. I understand what you are going through. Conflict and emotions are high. You are in a situation that seems insurmountable and overwhelming. I am here to guide you and the other party to a satisfying resolution.
#4. I am candid about pricing. You can select my hourly rate of $250.00/hour, or I can create a flat-fee package based on your needs. Your initial 30-minute consultation is free.
#5. I have a PhD in Communication and I have a law degree. I am a college professor who teaches students of all ages how to communicate and deal with difficult situations. This means, unlike other mediators, I am specially trained in interpersonal dynamics, nonverbal communication, and conflict resolution.
#6. I am responsive and work as quickly as possible to write up your mediation agreement while also being thorough.
#7. My PhD specialty is in Family Communication. As a mediator, one of the most challenging situations to mediate is divorce and family dynamics – because often relationships have to continue after the mediation. My training, education, and research allow me to navigate these issues with confidence.
#8. I will let you know upfront if I don’t think your dispute is appropriate for mediation, or if I think that I won’t be the best mediator for you. I have relationships with attorneys throughout the tri-state, and I am happy to provide recommendations for your legal needs.
#9. I am well-published in my field. That may not be important to you, however, know that I have done extensive research and have been published in very competitive journals regarding issues such as divorce, step-parenting, and difficult conversations.
#10. I am experienced. Depending on the topic, our discussions and your mediation agreement will address issues that you may not have considered as a future issue. My goal is to guide each party to sustained and long-term commitments that work for you.
