Family and Divorce Mediation

Family and divorce mediation can be a cost-effective option for parties who like to stay in control of decisions that are in the best interest of their family and children. The mediation process is not adversarial, and I act as a neutral third-party. Depending on your situation, I will help you prioritize and address the decisions that need to be made to satisfy the court’s requirements (i.e., division of assets, child custody, and support decisions, etc.).
I adhere to the standards and principles of the Association of Conflict Resolution, and the Academy of Professional Family Mediators in that (i) mediators should encourage self-determination by the parties; (ii) mediators should be impartial; (iii) mediators should avoid conflicts of interests during and after a mediation; (iv) mediators should be competent and only mediate cases or areas where they are trained and familiar with; (v) the process is confidential; (vi) and the mediator will maintain a high quality of the process including diligence, timeliness, safety, procedural fairness, and mutual respect among all participants.

General Mediation

Besides divorce, many other disputes can be resolved through mediation rather than litigation. Past examples of conflicts that I have mediated previously include the dissolution of business partnerships, landlord-tenant disputes, neighbor disputes, elder care decisions, and employee-employer disputes. In general, if there is a dispute that you are considering legal action for, it is a good idea to consider mediation. While some disputes are not good candidates for mediation, there is no harm in taking advantage of my free 30-minute consultation to consider alternative routes to dispute resolution rather than litigation.

Communication Coaching
and Consulting

Sometimes it helps to receive individualized communication coaching to improve your skills as a communicator in the workplace and family situations. Often communication deficits come from a fear of public speaking, a fear of disappointing others, or a fear of asserting yourself. Anyone can benefit from communication coaching – whether it is learning to decipher complex nonverbal interactions, expressing yourself more clearly and succinctly, or developing the language of a leader. If you are interested in one-on-one coaching, contact me for a free 30-minute consultation, and I can create a plan and individualized sessions to improve your communication at work, family, and life.

Organizational Communication Training

Throughout my career, I have developed training tailored for an organization’s needs. These trainings include: how to deal with difficult people, interpersonal skills in the workplace, how to give evaluations and critiques, how to avoid toxic work environments and cultures, and how to use data to improve performance and outcomes. If your organization has a communication or culture issue, I can develop interactive, informative, entertaining, and results-based training to address the issue or issues.
